Founder and CEO
Nasreen holds a Global Executive Leadership Certificate from Dartmouth College-USA, a Bachelors Degree (Hons) in Business Management from University of Sunderland, UK and an Advanced Diploma in Business and Law from Edith Cowan University, Australia. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Innovation, Leadership and Management with University of York, UK.
Nasreen has built considerable experience in social-entrepreneurship and business development. Her mission is to give disadvantaged women a voice through business growth and help them be ambassadors of advocacy issues affecting women, youth and their communities. Nasreen’s work has been recognized and won several awards both locally and internationally.
Nasreen is a Mandela Washington Fellow (U.S Department of State), Go Global Africa Champion (UK Government's Department of Culture, Media and Sport), Alibaba eFounders Fellow (Alibaba Group & UNCTAD) and Tech By Her Fellow (MEST Africa and Make-IT in Africa, Ghana).
Nasreen is in charge of partner acquisition, marketing, product development, and implementing company strategy.
Partnerships Lead
Harliet has over 6 years experience in Sales and Marketing across various industries. Her life purpose is to connect people and organizations to opportunities that will catapult them to their next level of growth. She is passionate about working with communities and with organizations that are driven by a shared mission – transforming lives! She offers extensive knowledge of multiple marketing programs, strong attention to detail, and extraordinary communication skills.
Harliet holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications & Public Relations from Daystar University, Kenya and a Diploma in Professional Marketing – Level 6 from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Harliet is a board member for Akili Unchained, a mental health organization whose primary objective is to provide affordable mental health care services to the underserved.
Harliet is responsible for Business Development and Acquisition, Sales Prospecting and Stakeholder Engagement, Trend Analysis and Monitoring of customer markets to inform business and product positioning. She is also the lead corporate client account manager.
Software Engineer
Michelle is a Back-End Developer skilled in UI/UX Design and Development. Her goal is to contribute her skills in building solutions for real-world problems. She constantly aims to advance her coding skills and build her footprint in the Technology Industry. Michelle completed an intensive Digital Apprenticeship Program under the UK tech Hub and Thunderbird School – Hosted by EldoHub.
Michelle is responsible for writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code using specific software to create web pages. She is also in charge of creating layouts and user interfaces for Afrikapu’s digital platforms (CRM and E-Learning Platform) using standard web development technology
Chief Financial Officer
Natasha has a background in Banking and finance with qualifications in Association Of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) from Jaffery’s Institute of Professional Studies, Kenya, Certificate in Banking from Kenya Institute of Bankers and Certificates in Relationship Management, Professional Selling and Marketing Planning from Marketing Society of Kenya.
Natasha has experience starting and running a Marketing, Branding and Events Company that has had the opportunity to work with some high profile clients including Office of the first Lady of Republic of Kenya, Kenyatta Trust founded by The President of The Republic of Kenya, Al Dahra Holdings; A multi-national company owned by the Royal Family in Abu Dhabi, Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA Group), Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF) etc
She is in charge of financial planning, reporting and our capital structure. She also playS a big role in developing the training curriculums.
Head of Finance & Accounting
Juliana is a Certified Chartered Accountant with qualifications attained from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) at Strathmore University, Kenya. She has received Leadership training hosted by Steve Shallenberger, author of Becoming Your Best: The 12 Principles of Highly Successful Leaders.
Juliana has 10+ years of experience working in retail and audit firms in the USA and Kenya. Her roles have centered around managing statutory audits of medium-sized organizations (turnover of over Kshs 100 million to Kshs 2.5 billion), computation and handling of tax matters as well as accounting for in-house clients. She has expertise in accounting and tax matters.
Juliana is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial records in line with the International Financial Reporting Standards. She also ensures compliance with accounting standards and identifies and mitigates risks in the finance department.
Sales & Marketing Lead
Nabil is an aspiring project management professional. As a recent high-school graduate, he has gained hands-on experience working alongside the Afrikapu team, giving him a head start during Afrikapu’s beginnings and a strong foundation for a career in the social impact space.
Nabil manages the administrative, operative and marketing responsibilities in Mombasa and Nairobi. He is greatly involved in the company’s Research and Development, as well as product development.
Nabil has maintained high-performance standards within a diverse range of administrative and marketing functions and has built up considerable experience in project management.
Nabil is passionate about goal-centered and impact-based projects. He is responsible for mapping out specific end-to-end field projects for Afrikapu, and executing the many logistical tasks required to deliver a quality project, from conception, right through to completion.
Chief Operations Officer
Imran holds an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from University of Chester (UK) as well as undergraduate qualifications in Business Management, Finance, Banking, Accounting and Information Technology. Professionally, he is a qualified Project Manager, with PRINCE2 certification.
Imran has a wealth of experience in all areas of business operations and has worked in diverse organisations across three continents; Europe, Africa and the US. He has a real passion for excellent service and always strives to put customers at the forefront of his mind. He has worked on several successful projects and managed teams internationally.
Imran oversees the business operations and ensures the company has effective operational procedures. He is also responsible for project planning and building the technology roadmap for the company. He is currently based in London, UK and will manage partnerships in that region.
Software Engineer
Gladys is a Junior Tech professional, currently heading Afrikapu’s Mobile App Development. She has received training from the Digital Apprenticeship Program implemented by EldoHub in partnership with Thunder School of Global Management.
Gladys is a recent graduate of Moringa school, specializing in Mobile and web application. development. While in school, she volunteered as a mobile developer at TechPrescribed Limited to work on TAP-IT, a real-world mobile application. As a result of her passion for software development, she won the Google Africa Developer Scholarship.
Gladys is a mentee at the KamiLimu Mentorship program where she participated in various professional development programs. Her outstanding commitment to growth earned her the top Mentee Award.
Gladys is a powerful source of motivation and uses her energy to encourage others to succeed.
Content Development & Manager
Newton is a creative and motivated Software Design and Development Professional with over seven years’ experience in digital marketing. He has a strong background in multimedia divisions, user interface and user experiences, with a focus on online platforms. He has worked with a diverse range of clients to develop their web applications and grow their brands and web presence.
Newton holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management of Information Systems. He is responsible for providing digital marketing strategies and implementation, for Afrikapu to increase its brand visibility and amplify its impact story.
Newton is working closely with different departments to develop creative marketing startegies and a global sustainable supply chain strategy that Afrikapu adopts to access global markets and increase the economic and operational performance of the organization, as well as the artisans micro-entrepreneurs that Afrikapu supports.
